One day workshops - Mindfulness and Creativity, at the CITY LIT, London

An introduction to and exploration of the practice of mindfulness and how it supports and enhances creativity.Through a variety of guided exercises, including drawing observation and the imagination, we will explore how mindfulness can help to support a light/playful, yet wholehearted engagement in creative practice. This course is suitable for beginners as well as those with experience in mindfulness and/or drawing who would like to immerse themselves in a day of creative practice or stimulate new directions. The skills offered on this one day workshop are transferable to creative disciplines other than drawing.

Body & Beauty: mindful drawing at the National Gallery, London

Draw the body and explore evolving ideals of beauty, taking inspiration from diverse life models and paintings spanning five centuries. Over five sessions, mindfulness expert and artist Clare Barton-Harvey will help hone your formal drawing skills, offer playful ways to stimulate your creativity and guide you in basic mindfulness practice. Whether you are new to drawing the body, mindfulness or are keen to develop your practice in new ways, this course will open your eyes to cultural perceptions of beauty as well our own judgements and assumptions. All materials provided.
